Tim Williams Workshop and Concert

Sept 17th update – Tim hostedan excellent 2 hour guitar workshop and taught a wide variety of attendees some basic blues picking, turnarounds, and an intro to slide guitar playing in the afternoon. In the evening Tim offered folks a broad overview of blues styles on his acoustic guitar, resonator, and mandolin. A fine evening with a master of the blues.

Tim Williams has been performing roots and blues since his teens in the ‘60s in Southern California, learning his trade from the likes of bluesman Lightnin’ Hopkins and songwriter/actor/performer Hoyt Axton (among others). He has toured North America, Europe, North Africa, Mexico, Cuba and Australia, playing acoustic blues accented with his early exposure to Hawaiian and Mexican music.  In 2014 he won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee (Best solo/Duo, and Best Guitarist), as well as the Calgary Blues Music Association Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame awards. His most recent cd, So Low, charted number 2 on the Roots Music Report for Canada, number 30 worldwide, and number 22 in Living Blues magazine. He is one of the handful of great acoustic blues singers, writers, and performers currently on the scene.
