Patrick Alexandre – House Concert – SOLD OUT

NOV 23, 2016 – Patrick Alexandre is the boisterous Bluesy Voice and Rockin’ doghouse bass of the Winnipeg Dixie-Billy band the F-Holes.  Take away the band, and what you are left with is just that.  Concentrated Blues and Rootsy old Rock and Roll.

After three albums with the F-Holes, and one with Little Miss Higgins, co-producing and playing bass, Patrick Alexandre recently released his first solo album: “Strange New World”.  He describes it as a collection of songs about a modern era through the lens of old time blues.  A true do-it- yourselfer, Patrick performed most of the instruments himself, (though he did managed to fit an appearance from each of the F-Holes and a few other guests as well.) He also engineered, mixed and produced the project, all of which was done on reel to reel tape, in a
century old house near his home in Wolseley, Winnipeg.

Throughout his career Patrick has continually explored unconventional spaces and analogrecording whenever possible.  From his uncles’ old barn where Little Miss Higgins’ Juno
nominated Bison Ranch Recording Sessions was recorded, to an old Wolseley house and beyond. He is currently holding residence in a temporary studio in an abandoned candy factory in Winnipeg’s gritty North End.  “It’s the perfect spot to find some real blues, right here in Winnipeg” he says of the building “between the systematic problems with poverty and racism right outside the window, and the ghosts spooking the tunes right out of me from inside of the old beat up building… inspiration is
never very far away”

Backed by two of Winnipeg’s finest, Dwayne Dueck on guitar, and Jeffrey Laird ondrums, Patrick swings seamlessly from guitar to piano, to harmonica, and of course his native instrument, the upright bass.  With his animated live show, powered by his unending energy and roaring voice, he continues to entertain audiences across Canada, keeping up his reputation as
one of the hardest working, and most intense performers around, giving every last bit of himself in performance.
