Connie Kaldorhas been a mainstay on the Canadian Folk scene. With a loyal fanbase she continues to tour and write and record. Connie has won 3 Junos, she is the first songwriter to win the Western Literature award and she has been made a member of the Order of Canada. She sings of the prairies, of women, she is irreverent and moving.
Performing with Connie wil be her husband Paul Campagne, who toured for several years with his sisters in the influencial groups Folle Avoine and Hart-Rouge. Connie and family live in Montreal where son Aleksi Campagne is already making a name for himself as a singer songwriter and violinist who’s music blends his folk roots with his jazz training. Also performing iwill be eldest son Gabriel Campagne who leads his own gypsy-pop band Les Barricades.
Kaldor’s best-known songs include ‘Bird on a Wing,’ ‘Maria’s Place,’ ‘Wood River,’ ‘Wanderlust,’ ‘Gentle of Heart,’ and ‘I Go Out Walking.’ Her ‘Strength, Love and Laughter’ has been an important song in Canadian feminist music; ‘Bellybutton’ (the title song of a Heather Bishop album) has been popular with children’s audiences. Kaldor has had her songs or music used in several films (eg, the National Film Board’s Prairie Women, 1986, and the independent One Hit, 1990), on CBC TV’s ‘Fred Penner’s Place,’ and in dance (Jo Lechay’s Absolute Zero, 1991). Among other artists to record her songs are Roy Forbes (their collaboration ‘Love or Something’), Ronnie Gilbert, Priscilla Herdman, Hart Rouge (the 1991 Quebec hit ‘C’est elle,’ for which she wrote the music), Garnet Rogers, Sally Rogers, and several children’s performers.

His playing is influenced by earlyblues recordings and a love of old timey music, resulting in a varied repertoire of original and traditional songs – ranging from metal guitar driven hard edge blues workouts to softer dobro and banjo pieces. His main influences include Ry Cooder, Mississippi John Hurt, John Fahey and JohnHartford.
